Rita Taylor Williams was born in St Joseph, MI on March 24, 1955 to Edith and Robert J Taylor Sr. She fought a good fight and the Lord decided to call her home to rest on February 4, 2025.
Rita was the baby girl of nine siblings. She graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1973. In 1974 she welcomed a son Allister and then two years later married George Taylor Jr in 1976. Three years later they welcomed a baby girl Amanda. Rita and George Taylor Jr divorced May 1979. Rita worked at Bosch for 21 years before retiring. She love to sing in the choir and even lead a song. She enjoyed raising her two children, cooking, watching her favorites shows like, 9-1-1, Chicago PD, Greys Anatomy just to name a few. Rita met Jayce when she was a young girl whom became her childhood sweetheart for two years. They met again in 2018 and got married on June 17, 2022.
She leave to cherish her husband Jayce Williams, two children son Allister Taylor, Sr., Battle Creek MI, daughter Amanda Perry Kalamazoo MI. Four step sons Robert Jones Las Vegas, NV, Richard (Michelle) Eddie, Grand Rapids, MI, Clem Turner and Jerome (Jennifer) Eddie from Benton Harbor MI. Four step-daughters Angelica Eddie, Shae Eddie, Margie (Albert) White all from Benton Harbor MI, and Jessaria Williams Bridgman MI. Three sisters Bernice Cain of Detroit MI, Zenovia Coates, and Lorraine Watson Benton Harbor MI. Sister-in- law Laura Mae Montgomery and Diana (Roland) Reed from Benton Harbor MI, Doris Jean Johnson Erie PA and one brother in law Larry Williams Benton Harbor MI. Five grandson Allister Taylor Jr, Ian Taylor, Michael Taylor all from Phoenix AZ, Thaddeus Taylor Benton Harbor, and Tristian Perry Kalamazoo MI, god-daughter Autary “Trease” Taylor and god sister Velma Kilgore all from Benton Harbor. Longtime friends Albert and Labralia Allen, Vikki Dickens, Rodney Atkinson and a host of step grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Rita was preceded in death by her parents Edith and Robert Taylor Sr., siblings, Robert Taylor Jr, Allen Taylor, Abbott Taylor, Laura Franklin, Ida Rellis and Deloris Singleton. Grandson J’Micheal Perry.
