William Gordon Rumery, 78, of Gobles, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at his home.
He was born October 30, 1946, in Allegan, the son of Gordon William Rumery and Reva Eleanor (Andrews) Rumery.
Bill was an all-around avid outdoorsman. He especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Bill was a butcher at the former Rumery Superior Market. Most recently, he owned Bill’s Solar Suds Laundromat and Carwash. Bill was a hardworking man who adored his family. His grandchildren were the highlight of his life.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Joe) DeYoung of Gobles; sister, Vikki Lynn (Larry Smith) Raskin of Phoenix, AZ; brother, Richard Lee (Cheryl) Rumery of Gobles; six grandchildren, Jackson Rumery, Joseph DeYoung II, Eli DeYoung, Ava DeYoung, Sawyer DeYoung and Levi DeYoung and daughter-in-law, Cindy Rumery. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Kelli William Rumery and his brother, David W. Rumery.
Family and friends are invited to gather at Journey Family Church, 514 West Van Buren Street, Gobles on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. A memorial service will begin at 12:00 p.m. with Gary Knapp officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Journey Family Church in Gobles.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw.
