Rebeckah Marie Barringer, a cherished soul whose generosity and courage were as boundless as her intellect, passed away on January 1, 2025, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Born on December 21, 1968, in Brazil, South America, Rebeckah’s vibrant spirit and infectious enthusiasm for life have left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Rebeckah’s journey began as the beloved daughter of Wilfred and Eiliene J. (Crabdree) Blake, whose memory she now joins in eternal rest. Throughout her life, Rebeckah’s family was her stronghold, and she leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. Her children, Taylor (Melissa Georges) Blake, Mark Clayton, and Danielle Shimanek, will carry forward the light of her wisdom and the warmth of her care. She was a sister, a confidante, and a friend to Rachel Blake (Ross Ream), Timothy Blake (Cindy Prenkert), Rev. James (Rev. Sheryl) Blake, and Paul Blake (Denise Dennison). She will be greatly missed by her special friend, Bobby Soltysik. A doting aunt, Rebeckah’s presence will be greatly missed by her nieces, nephews, and the many young lives she influenced.
Professionally, Rebeckah was a respected Senior Director of Security in Nuclear Administration, Allied Universal, dedicating her career to the safety and security of nuclear facilities both at home and abroad. Her work was not just a job; it was a calling that saw her travel extensively, ensuring the protection of communities and countries around the globe. She was currently furthering her education and attending Palm Beach University, where she was completing a bachelor degree in business administration. Rebeckah’s commitment to her profession was surpassed only by her commitment to her faith. She was an active member of the Rocky Mountain Calvary Church in Colorado Springs, where she found fellowship and joy in the community. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxilary in Jensen Beach, Florida.
Rebeckah’s interests were as diverse as her talents. A free spirit, she found joy in the thrill of riding her motorcycle, with the wind as her companion on the open road. A Disney fanatic at heart, Rebeckah delighted in visiting the magical world of Disney, often extending her business trips to indulge in the happiness and wonder that only Disney can provide.
Above all, Rebeckah will be remembered for her immense heart. She was a beacon of hope to those in need, always extending a hand to lift others. Her commitment to serving the less fortunate was evident in her sponsorship of two refugee families and support of over fifteen children through Compassion International. Her actions were a testament to her belief in sharing God’s word and love through tangible acts of kindness.
Rebeckah’s life was a testament to the words that best describe her: intelligent, generous, and courageous. Her intelligence shone through in every aspect of her work, her generosity was felt by all who had the pleasure of her company, and her courage inspired those around her to be better versions of themselves.
The world has lost a remarkable woman in Rebeckah Marie Barringer. Though her physical presence is no longer with us, her spirit continues to guide and inspire. Her laughter, her passion, and her unwavering spirit will forever live in the hearts of those she touched. We take comfort in knowing that Rebeckah’s legacy will continue to unfold in the lives she has shaped and the love she has spread far and wide.
