Deborah Ann Stanford, age 74, passed away on January 1, 2025 following complications from a fall. She was born on August 8, 1950 to Fred and Virginia (Babcock) Driscoll in Benton Harbor. On July 11, 1970, Debbie married H. Bruce Stanford in Benton Harbor, and he preceded her in death in 1997.
Debbie was a talented sketch artist and painter and created many beautiful pieces of art. She was a longtime member of The Barn Church and Ministries in Dowagiac and was devoted to her faith. Debbie also enjoyed spending time walking the beach along Lake Michigan and took many trips around the world with her longtime friend, Ruth, including Isreal and Ireland. Debbie loved being around her family and spent countless hours with her grandson, Austin. Debbie’s loving and caring nature along with her selfless ways will always be remembered by her family and friends.
Debbie is survived by her children, Mark Stanford, Amy (Eric Jones) Stanford-Jones, Sean (Jennifer) Stanford, and Elizabeth (Bill) Hull; grandchildren, Austin Sweeney and Eylonna Jones; siblings, Daniel (Annie) Driscoll, Diane (Dean) Brubacker, David (Sarah) Driscoll, and Dean (Tena) Driscoll; and best friends, Ruth Schadler and Vikki Ahrens.
Along with her husband, Bruce, Debbie was also preceded in death by her parents.
Per Debbie’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life gathering will be held at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Chapel, St. Joseph.
