The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department has announced the appointment of a new undersheriff.
Casey Davis started his career at the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department in 2008 as a road patrol deputy. He was assigned to the Narcotics Division in 2011. During his time in Narcotics, the department says Davis worked as an undercover detective. In 2017, Davis was promoted to road patrol sergeant, and then he was promoted again to narcotics lieutenant in 2019.
Undersheriff Davis is also a firearms instructor and is certified in the disposal of meth labs.
In 2017, Davis received a Life Saving Award for saving the life of a Grand Rapids police officer who had a heart attack.
The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department says it’s a pleasure to announce his appointment as undersheriff and that he’ll bring a wealth of experience to the position.
The previous Van Buren County Undersheriff was placed on administrative leave in July for an investigation. His employment with the department was later severed.
