Time to Plant

Stuart, as many know as Mike, was raised in Benton Harbor, Michigan. He attended Saint Matthews from Kindergarten through Eighth Grade and Coloma High School where he then graduated with the class of 1986.

Throughout his academic career he played a variety of sports. Mike took part in little league baseball, rocket football, and basketball. Sports was embedded in him at such a young age it transitioned into his adult lifestyle, even though he wasn’t participating. After graduation Mike continued his education by attending Lake Michigan College and later gaining his bachelor’s in arts from the University of Pheonix. Within this time Mike was also employed by the city of Benton Harbor, working at the Water Plant, until his health began to decline.

Mike lived his life the way he desired, the way he deemed fit, despite all the obstacles God has thrown his way. One of his biggest accomplishments was being able to watch his daughters sprout into responsible adults and making something of themselves while being the best mothers they can be to his grandchildren. He always instilled the importance of education and to witness his daughters successfully complete college and well ass advance within their careers was very rewarding for him. Mike’s daily talks will be truly missed by many.
