Sandra Kay Holmes, 75, passed away on November 6, 2024, in St Joseph, MI. Born on June 29, 1949, Sandy was raised by her grandmother, Jo Moss, until she graduated from Benton Harbor High School.
Sandy went on to earn a degree from Michigan State University in Special Education, where she dedicated her career to helping and educating those with special needs. She helped many students in her 30 year career and touched many lives from working at Berrien County ISD, Berrien Springs, and Lakeshore Schools for over three decades.
Known for her strong, caring nature, Sandy was a devoted mother and an enthusiastic gardener, who also found joy in traveling and cherishing moments with her children and grandchildren.
Sandy is survived by her son, Kevin; daughter, Megan (JD) Boesch; grandchildren Isaiah, Elijah, and Aaron; and her cherished companion of 18 years, Jim Carpentier.
A memorial and celebration of Sandy’s life will be held at her home in Stevensville on Thursday, November 14th. The home will be open for visitors and loved ones from 4 in the afternoon, with a time for stories and remarks commencing at 6. Sandy’s life was a testament to her profound impact on her family and community, and she will be deeply missed.
