Raymond G. Snyder, 70, of Benton Township died Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at his home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held this Saturday, September 14, in Benton Harbor. Cremation has been held and burial of the ashes will be next to his wife’s ashes at Batchellor Cemetery in Fountain, Michigan. Ray was born on November 2, 1953, in Watervliet to Richard and Helen Snyder. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Ray married his best friend and soul mate, Tammy, in 1995 and she preceded him in death in 2023. He was employed at several different factories in the area including Modern Plastics before becoming a truck driver. Ray was employed by several different truck companies before retirement. He loved riding his motorcycle. Ray was a hard worker and would help anyone who needed help.
His family includes his children, Brian (Sharon Brown) Snyder of Benton Harbor, Amanda Snyder of Sebring, FL, and Shannon Dehne of Benton Harbor; his siblings, Robert (Cheryl) Snyder of Lafayette, IN, Daniel (Judi) Snyder of Ithica, MI, Timothy (Linda) Snyder of Avon Park, FL, Sandra (Wilbur) Williams of Smithville, MS, and Brenda (Vance) Verbeck of Brazonia, TX; 4 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Helen and a brother, Dennis Snyder.
