Tri-County Head Start has changed its name.

The early childhood education program says it will now be called Flowers Early Learning.

Flowers says the name change, revealed at the ribbon cutting for its new Millburg Early Childhood Education Campus on Friday, is intended to reflect the organization’s vision for the future. It also honors Orion H. Flowers, the former director of Tri-County Head Start. He dedicated 34 years to building the program from 96 to more than 1,000 students.

With a new identity, Flowers Early Learning says it aims to expand its reach and serve more children throughout the region. It says its core mission, however, remains the same: “to offer a nurturing and educational environment where every child can thrive.”

Flowers Early Learning will continue to serve Head Start-eligible children while expanding programs to more children and families throughout Berrien, Cass, and Van Buren counties.
