
Joan Ziebarth, 91, of St. Joseph, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at Golden Shore Assisted Living in Benton Charter Township.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 15th at St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Joseph. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 4:00 – 5:30 p.m. Sunday, July 14th at Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home in Coloma with the Rosary beginning at 5:30.
Memorials may be made to Caring Circle Hospice or Birthright Auxiliary.

Joan was born September 12, 1932 in Chicago, Ill.; one of four children born to Alex and Olga Adent. Shortly after her birth, the family relocated to Royalton Township where Joan grew up on the family’s fruit farm. Joan was married to Leon “Zeke” Ziebarth and the couple enjoyed 45 years together prior to Zeke’s passing in 1997.
Joan was a lifetime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and also a member of the Birthright Auxiliary. She enjoyed traveling and flower gardening. Joan especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Joan is survived by her five children, Terri (Kevin) McGrath of St. Joseph, Denise (Glenn) Schmidke of Smyrna, Tenn., Debra Boothby of Benton Charter Township, Michael (Shelley) Ziebarth of Watervliet, and Patti (Bill) Goetz of Fort Myers, Fla.; her sister Lillyan (Steve) Simko of Berrien Center; eleven grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Richard and Thomas Adent.
