There’s no word of any injuries, but some of the severe storms Sunday night included a tornado touchdown in Van Buren County.
A tornado warning came just minutes after a tornado was spotted in Gobles. The National Weather Service said, “At 9:59 p.m. a confirmed tornado was located 7 miles southwest of Otsego, or 11 miles northwest of Kalamazoo, moving east at 30 mph.”
Damage has been reported in the areas of Pine Grove and Bloomingdale, extending to Gobles. There is damage to at least one house and reports of trees down in the area and power disruption.
A 76 mph wind gust was reported at the Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport in Portage.
