Are you stressing about money? A new study says almost half of us are.
According to the researchers at Bankrate, 47% of us say money has a negative effect on our mental health. Industry analyst Ted Rossman says most of those money worries revolve around daily expenses.
“Inflation and the rising cost of living is number one,” Rossman said. “Other things that bubble to the top include the ability to pay for day-to-day expenses, the ability to save for emergencies. It tends to be more of the here and now, not so much retirement. That’s something that’s important, but it’s way down the line.”
Rossman says 51% of women report money has a negative impact on their mental health, compared to 42% of men.
