Mark Gregory Bielecki, 74, of Portage, MI passed away on Monday morning, March 25, 2024, surrounded by family.
Mark was born on October 13, 1949, to Frank & Anne Bielecki in Grand Rapids, MI.
Mark graduated from Catholic Central in Grand Rapids MI, in 1967. He went on to graduate from University of Detroit Mercy in 1971 with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting & Marketing. Mark was a proud member of Tau Kappa Epsilon. After graduation, Mark joined the Army and served his country as a reservist.
Mark met the love of his life, Kathryn Seibel, during a ski patrol exercise. Mark and Kathy were married on June 28, 1975. He and Kathy spent their many beautiful years together on countless adventures. In 1981, they embarked on their greatest adventure together and became parents. Laura Elizabeth was born in January 1981 and Jared Michael was born in January 1984. They loved their children fiercely.
Mark wore many hats in his career. He worked as a corporate controller and regional sales manager before deciding to open a family business as an executive recruiter.
He enjoyed many special experiences with Kathy and his family. He and Kathy were members of the National Ski Patrol. They took many ski trips to Colorado with the kids. He was an avid scuba diver; his favorite dive resort was in Roatan, Honduras. He was also a Harley Davidson enthusiast, self taught guitarist where he played in the Siena Band at St. Catherine’s, and a published voice actor whose works can be found on Audible. Most recently, Mark began teaching himself the Python Programming language. He was always re-inventing himself and never stopped learning.
Mark was preceded in death by his father, Frank Bielecki and his mother, Anne (Kamm) Bielecki.
Mark is survived by his wife, Kathy Bielecki, daughter Laura (Chris) Bielecki-Metzger of Plymouth MI, son Jared (Rachel) Bielecki of Rockford MI, and grandchildren, Lochlan Bielecki, Stella Metzger, and Kellan Bielecki.
Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Mark’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 1150 W Centre Ave, Portage, MI 49024. Friends may visit with the family prior to mass from 10:00-11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tunnel to Towers or Rose Arbor Hospice.
