The city of South Haven has announced Spring 2024 leaf pickup will take place during the first two weeks in April (April 1 – April 12), weather permitting.
The City of South Haven provides loose-leaf pickup for residents in the city limits. The city has two vacuum-type leaf trucks that make their way through each neighborhood. For loose-leaf pickup, city officials as that you place unbagged leaves in your parkway or the edge of your lawn by the street.
Officials say due to safety concerns, leaves are prohibited from being placed on the road. They ask that you do not rake leaves into the ditch and to please place all leaves on the edge of the curb and reachable by the city leaf truck.
Items such as garden trash, boards, sticks, rocks, and other items that would prevent the leaf truck from quickly sucking up leaves cannot be placed in the leaf piles. Bagged leaves will not be removed.
If you miss the city’s vacuum pickup, the city says feel free to bag your leaves/bundle yard debris for the garbage company, Best Way Disposal to pick up. Best Way Disposal yard waste pickup will take place weekly on the same day as trash collection, and season begins April 1 and ends November 30.
