Renate Gerstenkorn, 70, of Stevensville, Michigan, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2024 at her home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, March 28 at 10 AM at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Pastor Knox officiating. Burial will follow at Hickory Bluff Cemetery in Stevensville, MI. Friends may visit with the family from one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Renate was born April 30, 1953, in Mirow, Germany to Alfred and Hedwig (Meinke) Jenk. On October 4, 1990, she married Erhard Gerstenkorn in Kauai, Hawaii. As a career, Renate developed maps and would be one of the first people to work as a digital map writer for GPS. She loved cooking, fishing, feeding the birds and tending to her beautiful gardens.
Renate is survived by husband of 33 years, Erhard Gerstenkorn; mother, Hedwig Jenk; stepchildren, Brian, Matthew (Wendy) & Melissa Gerstenkorn; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and brother, Gerhard Jenk. Renate was preceded in death by father, Alfred Jenk.
