
Martin’s life began June 9, 1954 in Benton Harbor, Michigan, Martin grew up in the area graduating from Coloma High School. After graduation Martin proudly served his country in the United States Army. Upon returning home after his enlistment Martin continued his education in computer programming at Ferris State University. Martin lived for a time in Minnesota and recently relocated to Watervliet after marrying the love of his life Pat Imler-Dixon. Martin enjoyed spending his spare time watching NASCAR, reading, watching science-fiction movies, and he was an avid writer.
Martin leaves behind a loving family to cherish his memory including: three children Tracy (Rob) Robbins, Christopher Dixon, and Megan Dixon; a grandson Brandon Dixon; step-daughter Amanda Imler-Ratliff; seven siblings Don Dixon, Robert Dixon, Marcy Elston, Ron Dixon, Angie (Chad) McGillivary, Rudy (Jane) Dixon, and Jim Dixon; and several nieces and nephews.
Martin died Sunday, March 17, 2024. He is preceded in death by his wife Pat Imler-Dixon, parents Rudy and Marcella (Immoos) Dixon, a grandson Joshua, and three siblings Tina, Brian, and Barb. Hutchins Funeral Home is assisting Martin’s family with cremation and his life will be celebrated at a later date.
