We’re not the only ones enjoying these unseasonably warm temperatures. Mosquitoes are back in Michigan, and much earlier than usual.
John Pepin is with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. He says mosquitoes are loving the balmy weather and standing water from recent storms.
“Warm temperatures, increased moisture, a lot of standing, that would lead to probably more mosquitoes,” Peppin said.
Mosquitoes are usually the most active from June to late September. More of them out now could also lead to more of them bothering us during the summer.
