More than half of U.S. companies are hiring for new roles while 77% plan to resume projects that were previously tabled.
Robert Half staffing firm Vice President Jeff Sokolowski says a lot of employees are choosing to stay in their current job. What could get them to make a move?
“Based on our research, we’re seeing that one of the things that will lead an employee to consider a new opportunity is better pay and benefits,” Sokolowski said. “Another is if their current firm is not offering flexibility, and that could be an extra day a week working remotely. It could be flexible on core work hours.
Sokolowski says hiring mistakes that companies make include delaying hiring decisions, not staffing adequately and causing further delays on projects, and not considering which projects need permanent versus contract talent.
