The Berrien County Road Department is planning a couple of informational sessions on road projects coming up this year.
First up, on March 7, will be a presentation on plans to improve Lakeside Road, Pier Road, and East Road in Chikaming Township.
Representatives from the Berrien County Road Department will be at the meeting to provide an update and answer questions related to the project. They’ll present the project plans, talk about streetscape elements, and more.
The presentation will be at Chikaming Township Hall from 5 to 7 p.m. There will also be a Zoom option.
The other presentation will focus on plans to reconstruct Red Arrow Highway from US-12 to Community Hall Road.
Among the topics of discussion at the informational session will be the 4 lane to 3 lane road reconfiguration design, non-motorized trails, the schedule, the effects on traffic, and more. The construction schedule anticipates the project beginning in late winter or early spring this year and it will require road closure to through traffic during some phases.
The meeting to learn more about the project will be March 11 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at New Buffalo Township Hall.
Everyone is welcome.
