In loving memory of Barbara Jean Young (Aka Silver Fox). She was born in Boley Oklahoma, June 5th, 1940. She attended Buchanan High and returned to graduate at Boley High School. She married her late husband Leon Young, June 27th, 1958.
Barbara was a sweet, loving and caring mother, sister, daughter, grandmother, great grandmother and great friend to many others. She carried herself throughout life with her very own special care and kindness to everyone, with her sweet tone and gentle touch. She loved her family with all her heart and cherished each and every moment she shared with them all. She even had a personal calendar of notes with each and every visit she had with her loved ones and kept it so very close to her heart.
Barbara loved to sew, read and travel. She also found a love to be a great photographer. While living in North Carolina, she learned and loved to bartend at the Palace Lounge and as small as she may have been, she was also a tow truck driver when needed by Hart’s Towing. One of her favorite pass times was shopping and finding her treasures at the Goodwill, with her love of the many purses and shoes. She was also a giver to those in need and had an item for anyone that mentioned they needed something, somewhere in her many finds.
She had her personal relationship with God and was a member of the nurse’s guild at New Good Hope Baptist Church. She was also a member of The Progressive Ensemble Choir.
Barbara leaves to cherish memories, siblings Sheri Flowal, Charles Thomas (Pearl), Elsworth Thomas, Alvin Thomas and Luther Thomas, Glenda Eildon. Her daughter Shebra with sons Damien Guidry (Erin) and Te’ Rhon Guidry (Jennifer), her two sons Dion and Karlan. Also, daughter Aarron Brown (John) with daughters Meiko and Kourtnei (Marshall) and daughter Shaynne Young with sons Raasean(Tierra), Taurean and Angel.
