Michael Anthony Hammer, Sr., 62, of Bridgman passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Corewell Health South, St. Joseph.

Michael “Hammer” was born December 26, 1961 in Concord, California, the son of Hans and Ruth (Dodson) Hammer. On August 9, 1980 he married the former Dawn Yerke. He was a millwright and retired from Bosch Braking Systems. Hammer enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, walking the beach looking for glass, and doing word search and crossword puzzles.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Dawn; his children: Michael (Ann Orr) Hammer, Jr. and Jessica (Johnny Ziemba) Hammer; one grandson: Kaleb Ziemba; his mother, Ruth Hammer; two sisters: Anne (Richard DeLuna) Hammer and Tina (James) Sargent; one brother: Mark (Linda) Hammer; and his faithful K9 companion: Phoebe.
Hammer was preceded in death by his father, Hans Hammer.
Arrangements are entrusted to Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman.
