After the October 7 terror attack by Hamas, an agreement between Israel and Hamas has been reached to extend a truce for another two days. That’s in exchange for the release of more hostages. They include a 4-year-old Israeli American kidnapped by Hamas.

Traveling to Jerusalem is Rabbi Asher Lopatin, the director of the Jewish Community Relations Council in Detroit. He immediately noticed some changes when the truce was announced.

“The airport, when you go into the airport, toward the entrance, every hostage has their picture there,” Lopatin said. “As you’re walking, there’s this hall of the hostages and yet, some of them are back. So, you see these gaps in the pictures, and you think, ‘Wow, we’ve gotten some of them back.'”

Israel has said it would extend the ceasefire by one day for every ten additional hostages released.
