The city of Buchanan has announced there will be no Thrill on the Hill event in 2024.
Event organizers say on social media for the event to continue, the city needs to replace essential equipment and invest in new structures. Due to the cost and the amount of time needed to put those things in place, the city commission has opted to postpone Thrill on the Hill for the year.
Organizers say they can’t wait to come together again in the future.
The Thrill on the Hill used to be a winter event during which people would ride inner tubes down the big hill downtown. In recent years, it became a summer event with a giant slip and slide on the hill.
Organizers say this year’s event was the biggest and most successful yet.
