Donald E. Byrd, 77, of Coloma died Friday, August 25, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Services celebrating his life will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, Aug 30, at the Davidson Chapel of Florin Funeral Services in Coloma. Burial will follow in Coloma Cemetery. The visitation will be held from 5 PM to 7 PM on Tuesday at the Davidson Chapel, family members are welcome to visit starting at 4pm. Please share memories or messages at www.florin.net.
Don was born on Dec 3, 1945 in Marked Tree, AR to John and Ola Mae Byrd. He married his wife, Nora Janice, and together they had 31 years of marriage. He was very mechanically inclined and was employed by Hull Lift Truck Co for over 35 years. Don enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating and spending time with family. He loved fixing and tinkering with things. Don was a stoic individual but was a strong man both physically and emotionally. He cared about his family and was the rock of the family.
His family includes his wife, Nora Janice; his children, Tracy (Joe) Baltazar, of Watervliet, Angie Valdez of Coloma, Donald (Shannon) Byrd of Watervliet, and Brandon (Kira) Byrd of Sharpsburg, GA; his 2 brother, Terry (Natalie) Byrd of Watervliet and Ricky Byrd of Joplin, MO; his 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
