
Lorraine Sue (Dadacki) Shotwell, a loving and thoughtful woman, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2023, in Edwardsburg, Michigan. Born on February 3, 1965, in Cass City, Michigan, Lorraine was the embodiment of faith, love, and dedication.
Lorraine was the daughter of the late Rudolph and Donna (Klinesmith) Dadacki. She is survived by her siblings; Mike Dadacki, Margaret (Tony) Elder, Marsha (Matt) Perez, Richard Dadacki, Darlene Whitehair, and Laura (Shawn) McMenamin. She was preceded in death by her sister Loann (Larry) Bridges.
In 1984, Lorraine married the love of her life, John Shotwell, in Deford, Michigan. Their bond was unbreakable, and their love story was an inspiration to all who witnessed it. Together, they raised three wonderful children, Jessica (Ben) Mertz, Jonathan (Christopher Roe) Shotwell, and David Shotwell. Lorraine was a phenomenal mother, always putting her children’s needs and happiness before her own. Her love for her family extended to her grandchildren; Natalie, Ethan, Noah, Emma, Henry, Elliot, and Anna whom she adored and cherished. Her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she was deeply loved and respected by all who knew her.
Lorraine was a dedicated paralegal, using her Associates Degree to serve her community with passion and diligence. Her work ethic was unmatched, and she was respected by her colleagues for her commitment and dedication. Lorraine’s faith was a guiding force in her life, and she embodied the values of kindness, generosity, and love in all her interactions.
Her interests were varied and fulfilling. Lorraine had a deep love for baking, often filling her home with the delightful aroma of fresh baked cookies. She recreationally rode horses, finding peace and joy in the companionship of the horses. An adventurer at heart, she loved camping and traveling, always eager to explore new places and experiences. Lorraine was also a voracious reader, often losing herself in the pages of a good book and then sharing those books with others. Above all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren, creating memories that will be cherished forever.
Lorraine’s life was a testament to her loving and thoughtful nature. She served her community with grace and kindness, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her faith was unwavering, guiding her through life’s challenges and joys. Lorraine was a beacon of light in the lives of those she touched, and her memory will continue to inspire and uplift those who were fortunate enough to know her.

A Celebration of Life for Lorraine will take place at the Community Church of Edwardsburg on September 9th. The service will be at 1pm followed by a time for family and friends to visit concluding at 4pm.
