With a heart as generous as a summer’s day and a spirit as reliable as the sunrise, Heather Fox Harwood graced this world with her presence on December 13, 1970, in Michigan City, Indiana. A true testament to the adage, “It’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years,” Heather made every moment count. She embraced life with a supportive and loving heart, always there for her family, friends and her beloved dog Abby. Heather’s dedication to her career as a Pharmacy Technician in the healthcare field was a reflection of her determination and commitment.

Born to Terry and Sharon Tackett, Heather was a beacon of light in their lives. She was the beloved sister of Shara Tackett and Daniel Tackett, who is happily married to Amanda. Heather was an adored aunt of Alicia Morris, Alexander Morris, Bailey Morris, Dyllan Stevenson, Alyssa Stevenson, Avery Tackett, and Erica Tackett. Heather was preceded in death by her grandparents, Grace Kellogg, Vernon Tackett, and Marguerite Tackett, who have surely welcomed her with open arms in the great beyond.

Heather was not just a pharmacy technician, but also an animal lover extraordinaire and a competitive pool player. She lived in Mishawaka, Indiana, and was the proud and doting dog mom to Abby. She was the perfect blend of sugar, spice, and a dash of pool cue chalk. Heather was the person who would lend you her last dollar, spend hours talking you through a problem, and then beat you at a game of pool with a smile on her face. As Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, “The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.” And live well she did.
