A farm house on M-140 is a total loss after a fire Wednesday. Sister Lakes Fire Department Chief Anthony Lozada tells us firefighters were dispatched to 2054 South M-140 around 3:45 p.m. They arrived to find the home fully involved. No one was home at the time and there were no injuries, although two reptiles and some fish were killed. The cause of the fire is unknown and under investigation. Lozada says there was nothing suspicious. MDOT closed down part of M-140 for a couple of hours while firefighters were at the scene due to several departments responding. They included the fire departments from Benton Township, Eau Claire, Sodus Township, Indian Lake, Watervliet, and Keeler Township.
