Gloria Glenowyn Senecal, 94, of St. Joseph, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 2, 2023 at Powell House Assisted Living in St. Joseph. She was born July 8, 1928 in Muskegon, MI to Hemming and Flora (Jones) Jensen.
Gloria grew up in the Muskegon area and was first married to E.J. Fortenbacher. She later married Wayne Senecal and moved with her family to St. Joseph in the later 60’s. She opened a wig shop at the Fairplain plaza and later moved her shop to the International Bazaar which she opened with her son, Jeff. She loved to sing and dance. She would gladly entertain anyone, anywhere with a song. She and her husband Wayne would spend most Friday nights somewhere where there was live music so they could dance and, more importantly, hand her a microphone! She and Wayne spent many years traveling to Florida in their motor home where they had many friends and family.
Gloria is survived by her children, Dan (Suzanne) Fortenbacher, Jeffrey (Corinne) Fortenbacher, Michael (Sharon) Senecal, Joann (the late Rick) Vales, and Thomas (Debra) Senecal, Shelley (wife of her late son, Kevin) Senecal; her grandchildren, John (Tawnya) Johnson, Brittany Senecal, Kristin Smith, Scott (Shawna) Smith, Amy Chapman, Andy (Nadine) Fortenbacher, Becca (Joe) Sherry, Charles (Cate) Fortenbacher, Oliver Fortenbacher, Aaron (Erin) Fortenbacher, Austin (Ashley) Fortenbacher, Taylor (Libby) Fortenbacher, Emily (A.J.) Lopez, Amanda (Ryan) Borth, Zach (Samantha) Senecal, Hannah Senecal and Jake Senecal; her great grandchildren, Eve, Karen & Aliyah Smith, Madison & Alexander Johnson, Lucy, Leo & Ellie Borth, Lila, Edie & Guy Sherry, Rylee Fortenbacher, Jacob Fortenbacher, Grayson & Jackson Fortenbacher
She is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Senecal; her son, Kevin Senecal; her parents; and siblings, Eugene, Bernadette, Edward, Linette.
