Firefighters in Lincoln Township were dispatched to two fires at the same location this week.

The department says they were called to a residential structure fire in the 6700 block of Cleveland Avenue on Monday. The fire was limited to the family room, and was was quickly extinguished with help from Royalton Township Fire Department. On Tuesday morning just after midnight, crews were again dispatched to the home to find heavy fire engulfing the second floor of the home.

Crews began a defensive operation because of the instability of the structure at that time, and had to use tankers to put out the blaze because there are no nearby hydrants.

The investigation is still ongoing, and people with any information are being asked to call the Lincoln Township police department.

Assisting in the efforts were the Royalton Township Fire Department, Baroda Fire Department, Lincoln Township Police Department, and Medic 1 Ambulance.
