Ronnie Scott, age 74 of Benton Harbor, MI, passed from this life Wednesday, May 4th, 2023. Born in Jonesboro, AR, Ronnie spent most of his life in Benton Harbor and was a member of the Twelve Corners General Baptist Church. Ronnie loved his family, all his trucking buddies, telling his stories to family and friends and being the life of the gathering.
Ronnie is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Scott and Marie (Loggains) Scott; one son, Steven Lee Scott; three sisters, five brothers and his wife of 40 plus years, Brenda (Feldton) Scott.
Survivors include children, Wayne (Linda) Scott of Watervliet and Barbara Scott of Coloma; grandchildren, Joshua Scott of Stevensville, Cory Parks and Mariah Parks; brother, Wayne Scott (Reba) of Bloomingdale, MI; sisters Margie Woods, Marilyn Scott, Dianne Gibson (Jimmy), Judy Glasco (Dawayne), Sharron Pierce, Renae Barnett, all of Jonesboro, AR; Darlene Austin (Michael) of Hot Springs, AR; and a host of other family members and loved ones including a dear friend, Helen Dye.
Prior to the service on Wednesday, May 10th, at the Duffield and Pastrick Family Funeral Home, 6548 Paw Paw Avenue in Coloma, MI, the family will receive friends and relatives from noon to 1:30 p.m. Services celebrating his life will immediately follow at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in Pennyan Cemetery in Bainbridge Township.
Brother Richard Kiser will officiate the service. Chett Brant, Bruce Edlberg, Bob Gearing, Ryan Hardy, Joshua Scott, Donny Thornton will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Dawayne Elliott, Jimmy Langston and the host of trucking buddies Ron has met over the years and miles.
Memorials may be made to the Twelve Corners General Baptist Church, 3207 East Euclid, Benton Harbor, MI. 49022.
