Connie L. Carrick, 60, of Niles, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at the Chalet of Niles.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, February 21, at Swem Chapel, 301 W. Front St., Buchanan. Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm on Monday February 20, also at the funeral home. Burial will take place privately in Praire Street Cemetery, Elkhart, IN. Connie was born on October 5, 1962 to Larry and Clara (Myers) Gardiner in Buchanan. She graduated from Grace Baptist School in 1980 and continued her education through Hyles-Anderson College, receiving her Batchelor’s in Education. Early in Connie’s professional career, she taught grade school in Arkansas. Following her teaching career, she worked at FAPCO in purchasing. On January 27, 1996, she married Jeffrey Carrick in Niles. Connie loved people, children and was well liked by those blessed to know her. She also enjoyed crafting, embroidery and crocheting, continuing to do so after her stroke made it difficult.
Connie is survived by her parents, Larry and Clara Gardiner; sister, Cathy (Jeff) Poe; brother, Loren (Cindy) Gardiner and nieces and nephews, Andrew Nagy, Carla Scherling and Brittany Gardiner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jeffrey Carrick.
