Freedom quilts were used by African slaves in America to send messages on how to safely traverse the Underground Railroad Network.
Learn about the history and meaning of the designs today (Wednesday, Feb. 8) at the Benton Harbor Public Library. From 5 to 6:30 p.m. people of all ages are invited to come down create freedom quilt squares for Black History Month.
