
Isaiah 41:10 – “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Roosevelt Gladney, Jr. affectionately called “G-Boy” by family and friends embraced the Lord’s hand peacefully on January 9th, 2023. He was born on March 29th, 1949, in Humboldt, Tennessee, to his parents, Roosevelt Gladney Sr. and Ella Mae Brown who both preceded him in death, and his wife Judy Gladney.
Roosevelt relocated to Benton Harbor, Michigan in 1952 and attended Benton Harbor Area Schools. He worked at Bosch Corporation for 38 years as a Machine Operator/Forklift Driver until he retired.
Roosevelt was a true gem, a strong, hard worker, and one of the kindest souls you could meet. He was a leader, provider, and protector. He had a very contagious smile and charismatic personality that brightened any room he entered. He loved spending time with family and friends, going to the casino, and playing cards. He showered his family with love, laughter, and memories that will be forever in our hearts.
Roosevelt has gone home to be with his beloved wife, Judy Gladney, who he loved and cherished. He leaves his loving memories: His children: Carla (Robert) Johnson of Charlotte, North Carolina, Dorie Gladney of Jersey City, New Jersey. His grandchildren: Ashley Davis, Robert (RJ) Johnson, and Zoe Ellis. His sisters: Mary Louise Rimpson, Mattie Johnson, Virginia Miller, and Hortense Guest. His sister-in-law: Carolyn (Sam) Word. His brother-in-law: Calvin Yates, Bobby Carruth, Luther Carruth, Reginald (Reggie) Carruth, Lamont Carruth. His aunt Annie Lenzie, uncle Ernest Rimpson and Willie Richmond. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and co-workers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roosevelt Gladney, Sr., and Ella Mae (Jack) Brown. His sister: Mary Alice Gladney. His sister-in-law: Charlene Yates, Rosemary Yates, Roseann Carruth. His brother-in-law: Cassell Yates and Kenny Carruth.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Robbins Brothers Funeral Home, Benton Harbor.
