Dale was born to Margaret Jane Bragg, March 21st, 1961 which was a beautiful day in Hinton, WV. Dale went to Watervliet High School and was employed for many years at Ausco Product. Dale grew up in Benton Harbor where he and life long friend Keith Middleton would fish the local ponds every chance they could and as adults, they would hunt and fish the rivers and lakes here in Berrien and Van Buren County. Dale and Keith would go up north every Thanksgiving and spend the week hunting. In the mornings and evenings, Dale would do all the cooking while up at the cabin, which his friends enjoyed. Dale also enjoyed spending time fishing with long time friend Alan Zachary. They would go out several days a week to fish the river and nearby lakes on one of Dales many boats. He also cherished the times he would go hunting and fishing with his two younger brothers David and Lonnie and wished he could have done more of that with them. He enjoyed making flies and lures for fishing, watching endless episodes of Walker Texas Rangers, Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men. Dale had a love for animals that was endless. He had raised a black bear cub, racoons, rabbits, dogs and at one point had a “zoo” in his backyard with all types of animals.
Dale married his best friend, keeper of secrets of 10 years on January 20th, 2017 where they enjoyed fishing, overnight stays on the river, sitting in the car at the beach while watching the waves and feeding the seagulls, drives out to Jasper Dairy to check out the river, trips to the flea market and, not to mention, the countless hours of holding hands and laughing. He instilled into his kids’ integrity, honesty and the love of the outside. He taught his son Dallas the love of hunting and fishing, it was one of those times up north when Dallas was with his dad and Keith and had shot his first deer. Dale was so proud of him. His one regret was he was unable to get his daughter, and partner in crime Scout, up north to go hunting as she begged and begged for a chance to bag a deer. He could never tell her no.
Dale is survived by his wife Veronica, his children Tom Lucker, Dallas Bragg, Carrie Bragg of Eau Claire, Kiylee (Mark) Cox of High Point, NC, Payton Terry of Gastonia, NC and Scout Bragg; seven grandchildren, Tommy & Jessica Lucker, Joshua Ramirez and Joseph Canard of Eau Claire and Kaislee, Brixlee and Evaleiya Cox of High Point, NC; his mother Margaret Bennett of Benton Harbor; three brothers David Bennett of Covert, Lonnie (Kari) Bennett of Coloma and Robert Dale Workman of Knoxville, TN; five sisters Debbie Rushing of Benton Harbor, Linda (Wayne) Scott of Watervliet, Sherry Ann Workman of Winchester, VA, Kathy Helbling of Grand Rapids and Loretta (Tony) Jacobs of Coloma.
