For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39
Our precious little angel, Armoni Dior Dianne Thompson, the beloved daughter of Victoria Marie Sallie and O.D. Thompson Jr. unexpectantly went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, December 22, 2022, at Spectrum Health Lakeland Medical Center in St. Joseph, Michigan, surrounded by the love and prayers of her beloved mother, father, brothers, and family from near and far.
It is written that the last chapter can never be written until God himself, as promised, appears. Hence, another era of time has come upon us. Finding us feeling lost still in our spirits and feeling alone. As the Word of God states in Ecclesiastes 3:1, “To everything there is a season and time, to every purpose under the heavens; A time to be born and a time to die.”A life of love is to be celebrated, never mourned and such a life began when our beautiful baby girl, Armoni Dior Dianne Thompson was born. Armoni was born on Wednesday, March 21, 2012, to her devoted and loving parents, Victoria and O.D. in Benton Harbor, Michigan.
Armoni was a stellar fifth-grade student at Fair Plain East Elementary School of Benton Harbor Area Schools. When her teacher, Ms. Mitchell when asked to describe Armoni, she said, “She was always such a little lady, and she will surely be missed in our classroom and by the entire staff and student body.
She had a contagious smile, one that would light up any room, those beautiful sparking eyes and she loved to help wherever needed and was always full of joy. Her favorite pastimes were playing the video game, Roblox, spending time with her family and especially her little cousins and she was the Princess of Tik-Tok.
Armoni was a devoted and precious daughter, a loving sister, a sweet and hearted granddaughter and great-granddaughter, a beloved and respectful niece, a cherished and caring cousin, and a loyal and kind friend to all who knew her. She was hilarious, nosey, had an enthusiastic sense of humor, smart, happy, sweet and she genuinely loved her family. Her brief although impactful presence on this earth made a powerful difference in the lives she touched.
Loved and treasured by her family and friends, Armoni leaves precious memories in the hearts of her devoted parents, Victoria Sallie and O.D. Thompson Jr., both of Benton Harbor; (5) brothers, Ervin and Avion Wilson whom she loved dearly, both of Benton Harbor, O’Darion, O’Davion and Amarion Thompson all of Atlanta, GA; (5) aunts, Katrina (Michael) Robinson of Winston Salem, NC; Jamesha Blackwell of Benton Harbor; Tyana Reaves, Whitney Thompson and Brittany Thompson all of Atlanta, GA; two uncles, Marcus Sallie-Davis of Benton Harbor, and O’Detress Reaves of Atlanta, GA; her maternal grandmother, Dorothy Sallie of Benton Harbor; paternal grandparents, Dianne and Archie Sterling of Atlanta, GA, her maternal grandfathers, Pollard West of South Bend, IN; and Michael Guidry of Benton Harbor; her paternal great-grandmother, Ethel Lee Henderson of Benton Harbor; special cousins whom she loved dearly, Khylie Jordan, Jakye Washington, Makayla Sallie and Evorion Anderson; (9) great-aunts, Doris Sallie, Rose Washington, Tanga Hines, Tharecea Jackson, Loretta Thompson, Debra (Warren) Hendrix, Tamika, LaToya and Regina Henderson,; four great-uncles, Cecil (Joyce) Scott, Kevin (Gloria) Amos and Archie (Delores) Thompson and Steve Thompson and a host of great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins, extended family, classmates, the Fair Plain East staff, students and dear friends.
Armoni was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, O.D. Thompson Sr., maternal great-grandparents, Rosa and Willie Sallie, paternal grandparents, Willie Woods, and Lillie Mae Thompson; one great-aunt, Fannie Washington, and her great-uncle, Willie Sallie Jr.
