George “Bill” William Lovelady, 92, formerly of Buchanan, MI went to be with the Lord on November 19, 2022 in Crossville, TN.
Bill is survived by his wife of 72 years, Margaret L. Smith Lovelady. Following graduating high school in Buchanan, MI, he served four years in the United States Air Force. Highlights of those four years included being selected to play basketball with the USAF tea, and meeting President Eisenhower after directing the pilot in parking the plane. He was also invited to play basketball with the President’s grandson the next day, which he did. He retired from American Electric Power Company in 1989 after 33 years of service.
Bill is also survived by nephews, Robert Ruetz, Andy Ruetz, Terry Lovelady, Larry Allen; and niece, Lana Wolfe.
Burial will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Buchanan, MI. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan, MI. Online condolences may be made at www.hovenfunerals.com.
