Diane Lynette Smith, 64, of Niles, MI, passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at Unity Hospital in Mishawaka, IN.
She was born July 25, 1958 in South Bend, IN to the late Jane and Charles W. Smith Jr. Diane was happiest when she was cooking and baking. People would rave about her cakes. She enjoyed experimenting with new recipes. She loved the Wolverines. On football Saturdays, you would always hear “GO MICHIGAN!” Christmas meant homemade crafts that she loved to make. Diane collected antiques and recently started watching Antique Road Show.
Diane is survived by her daughter, Reagan Lahti; sister, Denise (Greg) Ditsch; grandchildren, Alex Hively, Alyssa Hively, Riley Lahti; niece, Shaunna (Kris) Emmons; great-nephew, Liam Emmons; and fur nephew, Reggie.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jane and Charles Jr, and her beloved dog, Oscar.
Memorial service for Diane will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Hoven Funeral Home, 414 E. Front St, Buchanan, MI 49107. Visitation will begin prior to the service at 11 am. Burial will take place at a later date at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens, Niles, MI. Online condolences may be made at www.hovenfunerals.com.
