Hunter M. Westphal, 21, of Benton Harbor, formally of Decatur, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2022, at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo. Arrangements have been entrusted to Newell Chapel and Cremation Services.

Hunter was born September 16, 2000, in Paw Paw, to Burton Westphal and Barbara Grandstaff. He graduated from Decatur High School in 2019, where he played football and was an outstanding athlete. Hunter was hard-working and very intelligent; he worked as a diesel mechanic for B&B trucking. He enjoyed being outdoors fishing and hunting and loved riding his motorcycle with his fellow brothers. Most of all he loved his family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Hunter is survived by his mother, Barbara Grandstaff; sister, Shyanne Westphal; maternal grandparents, Edward L. Grandstaff Sr. and Joyce Owens; paternal grandparents, Wayne Westphal, Sr. and Brenda Westphal. He was preceded in death by his father, Burton W. Westphal.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Newell Chapel, Decatur.
