Ronald “Ron” Wagner

Ronald G. “Ron” Wagner, Sr., 73, of St. Joseph, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at Spectrum Health Lakeland. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, June 11, at 10 AM at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Burial will follow at Spring Run Cemetery. Those wishing to visit with the family may do so on Friday, June 10 from 5 PM until 7 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Royalton Township Fire Department. Ron was born May 21, 1949, in St. Joseph, to George & Lucille (Mach) Wagner. He graduated from Eau Claire High School in 1967. On August 31, 1969, he married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Benson, at Scottdale United Methodist Church. For over 30 years, Ron worked as a truck driver until he retired. Ron loved spending time watching, as well as racing cars over at Hartford Speedway. He also liked trying his luck at the slot machines, hunting and fishing.

Ron is survived by his loving wife of nearly 53 years, Nancy; son, Ron Wagner, Jr., of St. Joseph; daughter, Amy Wagner of Coloma; siblings, Sandra Merrill and Nancy (Kevin) Jarvis; brothers-in-law, Reubin Isom and Mike Benson; and sisters-in-law, Marsha (Bruce) Nevins, Bonnie (Dennis) Kublick, Kathy (Steve) Bunn. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Mark Wagner; and sister, Georgia Isom.
