Set for Thursday, May 26 at Dwight P. Mitchell City Center Park in Benton Harbor is the first Kitchenaid Community Concert since 2018. The concert committee’s Bryan Joseph told Benton Harbor City Commissioners this past week the headliner will be Stephanie Mills, an R&B singer with ten number one Billboard hits. She also starred in The Wiz on Broadway. The event is part of a community celebration during the Kitchenaid Senior PGA Championship.
“The community concert is our way of bringing in great fans to a great city ahead of the championship,” Joseph said. “Therefore, we feel that we’ve got a great city to showcase and the PGA folks are happy to assist us and Whirlpool is the sponsor.”
Joseph said the last Kitchenaid Community Concert, featuring Morris Day and the Time, attracted a crowd of around 30,000. The concert will be free and there will be food vendors.
