A $3.4 million expansion is coming to West Michigan Tool & Die in Benton Township, meaning 22 new jobs. The state announced Thursday the company is adding a bay and reconfiguring its machining building at its facility. It chose Benton Township for the expansion over a competing site in Chicago. Cornerstone Alliance Business Development Manager Cathy Tilley says the project will bring immediate manufacturing job opportunities to residents as West Michigan Tool & Die offers on-the-job training. The reason for the expansion is increased demand. West Michigan Tool & Die CEO Victor Mowatt says the company is “looking forward to offering our expanded capabilities to new and existing clients as we work to leverage our Minority Business Enterprise certification to offer supplier diversity to the market.”
