Police are investigating what they say is a suspicious death in Pipestone Township. The Berrien County Sheriff’s Department says deputies were called to the 5,200 block of Old Pipestone Road shortly after 4:20 p.m. on Thursday. A driver spotted the body of a woman in a ditch along Old Pipestone and called police. The deceased is a 52-year-old woman from Pipestone Township. Her name has not been released. An autopsy will be performed at the Western Michigan University Homer Stryker School of Medicine. The sheriff’s department says it does not believe there is any threat to the public. More information will be released once the autopsy is complete and the cause of death is known.
