Delila “Dee” Mae Turrell, 76, of Niles, passed away at Cass County Medical Care Facility on Sunday, January 16, 2022.

Dee was born on February 12, 1945, to the late James and Dorothea (Vincent) Bartley in Malden, Missouri.

When Dee was younger she did clerical work for many years but after her retirement she couldn’t sit idle. Dee loved to meet new people and chit-chat so when she was offered the opportunity to work at Hardings Market in Niles she jumped at the opportunity; Dee worked at Harding’s Market until shortly before she passed. She was also an avid reader, frequently reading a full book in one day and loved to knit in her free time. The only thing she loved more than all of that was her family.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Bartley and her mother, Dorothea Chenoweth.

Dee is survived by her two daughters, Becky (Jamie Gill) Eaves of South Bend and Karla Eaves of Mesa, Arizona; grandchildren, Morgan (Gabe) Smith of Niles, Samantha (Kyle Boersma) Krause of Berrien Springs, Joshua Eaves of Niles, Khloe Eaves of Arizona, and Alexa Pierce of Colorado; great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Parkyr, and Nora; best friend for over 60 years, Deanna Ditto of Edwardsburg; and many extended family members and close friends.

Dee has been cremated and her family will be remembering her privately.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Niles.
