Rev. James T. Dunn, 95, of Benton Township died Monday, January 10, 2022 at the Lakeland Spectrum Medical Center in St. Joseph.

Services celebrating his life will be held at 11 AM on Friday, January 14, at the Yore Community Church on Yore Avenue with his son, Pastor Jim Dunn officiating and Rev. Charles Engler assisting. Burial will follow in North Shore Memory Gardens next to his wife, Sarah. The visitation will begin at 10 AM on Friday at the Church. Memorials may be given to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for Breast Cancer Awareness. Arrangements are by the Fairplain Chapel of Florin Funeral Service in Benton Township. Please share messages or memories atwww.florin.net.

Rev. Dunn was born on April 1, 1926 in Bakerville, AR to Tomy and Elvie Dunn. He was a veteran of the WWII and served in the US Army. In the service he spent most of his time in the Philippines. He married his wife, Sarah Jane Deloach, and together they celebrated 67 years of marriage before her death in 2014. In 1959 Rev. Dunn received the Lord into his life and over the years became a Licensed Minister in the Church of God of Cleveland, TN. He spread the Word of the Lord through his music and his preaching. Currently, Rev. Dunn was the associated paster at the Yore Community Church. He was also employed at Chardon Rubber for over 37 years before his retirement in 1989. Music and playing his guitar were a big part of his life and he was a member of several religious group bands. Most notably the “Sunday Gospel Singers” by which Rev. Dunn’s music was able to take his message to many people. He also enjoyed fishing and baking for his family and friends. Rev. Dunn was a Man of God who preached his Word through his music.

His family includes his children, Douglas (Judy) Dunn, Sr. of Watervliet, Diane Dunn of Coloma and the current Pastor of Yore Community Church, Pastor Jim (Betty) Dunn of Coloma; his 11 grandchildren; his 19 great grandchildren; and his 2 sisters, Millie (Dwayne) Sells of Coloma and Lee (Charles) Engler of Benton Harbor. He was also preceded in death by 5 sisters and 1 brother
