Flick Pick is a podcast about movies. In today’s episode, Andrew Green reviews Monster Hunter, which is a movie released in 2020.
Monster Hunter is based off the franchise of video games of the same name. In the film, Milla Jovovich is an army commander who is transported to a magical world filled with large monsters, tribes that hunt them, a bunch of dragons, and a CGI cat who is also a chef.
This film was directed and co-written by Paul W.S. Anderson, who also wrote and directed many of the Resident Evil films. Those films, of course, also starred Milla Jovovich, who is in real life married to Paul W.S. Anderson.
Did the Tinsel Town power couple manage to recreate the magic of the Resident Evil films here, or is Monster Hunter bad like…well…all of the Resident Evil films?
