With over 55% of people over 16 being vaccinated for COVID-19, businesses may recall workers for in-person work May 24. Governor Gretchen Whitmer says the push is to now get 60% of people vaccinated with at least their first dose.

“What happens? Well, we lift the curfew on restaurants and bars. We will increase capacity at exercise facilities and gyms and increase indoor capacity limits at sports stadiums, conference centers, banquet halls, and funeral homes,” says Whitmer.

As of now, Leelenau County in northern Michigan is the first and only county with 70% of everyone over 16 with at least one COVID-19 vaccination shot. New infection numbers are down, the percentage of positive tests is down, and hospitalizations are also lower.
