Joseph Allen Schauer, 54, of Lawton, passed away Sunday April 18, 2021 surrounded by his family at home.
He was born July 11, 1966 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Joe leaves two daughters, Jessica (Christopher) Madill of Otsego, and Sydney Schauer of Portage, one son, Joshua Schauer of Traverse City; one grandchild, Glenna Madill; his brother, Paul (Kim) Schauer; two sisters, Mary Strand and Jaima (Charles) Green; his adopted father and mother, Paul J. and Dixie (Mahar) Schauer and Biological father, Larry (Debra) Britten.
Joe could often be found covered in drywall dust, he absolutely loved his lifelong career working with drywall. He spent time scuba diving in Puerto Rico where he was also a scuba diving instructor. Joe found enjoyment riding his Harley in the summer, riding ATV’s and camping. He also enjoyed listening to music and attending various concerts. Above all, Joe was a family man and enjoyed time with his children and granddaughter.
Cremation will take place. There will be a family memorial announced at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw.
