Rory (Rosemarie/Rhonda) Westlund, age 64 of Coloma, Michigan, passed away on April 3, 2021 at Lakeland Hospital.
She was born on September 7, 1956 to Robert and Anne Geweniger of Bensenville, IL.
Rory had a gift for connecting with people in a special way as evident by her commitment to the Piccadilly Ski Club and membership to the Paw Paw Lake Yacht Club. She loved making new friends and with her welcoming smile and warm demeanor she would create an instant bond. After this first encounter, you were part of her circle and from then on she was excited to see you. Rory was kind-hearted, she made others feel valued and important, and it is with this spirit that she made a lasting impression on the lives of so many. Above all, Rory loved with intensity. The best way for us to honor her memory is to love the way she did.
Rory is survived by her loving husband Dean Westlund, her children: Dan Perkins (Linda Nagel), Deanna (Scott) Claerhout, Dustin Perkins (Bethany Stratton), Janine Westlund, and Carla Westlund (Blake Reading), her grand children: Izaiah Perkins, Nathan Perkins, and Julianne Claerhout, as well as her siblings: Ron (Ginny) Geweniger, Roxanne (Kirk) Soden, Renee (Phil) Zoltowski, Randy (Johnna) Geweniger, Sharron Morgan-Geweniger, and Barbara Geweniger, over 20 nieces and nephews, over 15 great nieces and nephews, and countless dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Robert and Richard.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 15, 2021 in Coloma, Michigan. A location and time will be determined at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Duffield & Pastrick Funeral Home, Coloma.
