Shirley Hoger Burza, lifelong resident of of Paw Paw, passed away Monday March 1, 2021.
She was born January 1, 1933 in Paw Paw, the daughter of the late Charles Hoger and Harriet (Pietrowski) Hoger.
On April 23, 1955, at Saint Mary Church in Paw Paw, Shirley was united in marriage to Raymond Burza who survives. Together they enjoyed going square dancing. They also loved to travel. Trips all around the globe. The most memorable trips was to Rome where they sat in the front row while Pope John Paul celebrated mass.
She is also survived by her husband, Raymond, two daughters, Julie (Chet) Boothby and Cheryl (Rick) Kroeg; one son, Charles Burza, along with nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Jacquelyn Woodruff and Patricia (late Donald) Burza and her daughter in law, Cristy Burza.
Shirley was preceded in death by her son, Ray Burza Jr,.
Cremation will take place. There will be a memorial mass at Saint Mary Catholic Church announced at a later date this spring.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Saint Jude Children’s Hospital or Shriners Children’s Hospital.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw.
