Students at Central Michigan University are heading home for the holidays with Wednesday the last day of finals. University President Bob Davies told Michigan News Network this week they’ve encouraged students to self quarantine before going home.

“We have enabled students who live on campus if they want to stay the next two weeks on campus to self-quarantine,” Davies said. “We have made accommodations for those students to do that. Also, we will continue to aggressively communicate to students while they’re on break and before coming back to take care of themselves and to, again, be responsible.”

Davies says they will have classes online only for the first week when students return January 11. He says they’ve had COVID-19 cases, but it’s been less than 3% of the campus population
